Welcome to the Lake Norman Rural Planning Organization (RPO) web site. The Lake Norman RPO is a voluntary organization for communities to study and prioritize their transportation needs. The Lake Norman RPO encompasses Iredell, Lincoln, Cleveland Counties, and the western portion of Gaston County. The RPO can best be described as the western and northwestern portions of the Charlotte (NC) region. 

This site contains information for citizens, local government officials, transportation planners and engineers, elected officials, and parties interested in transportation planning in the Lake Norman RPO area.  

The Lead Planning Agency (LPA) for the Lake Norman RPO is the Centralina Council of Governments. The Technical Coordinating Committee (TCC) is comprised of staff from the counties and municipalities that comprise the RPO. The North Carolina Department of Transportation is also represented on the TCC. The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) is comprise of elected officials and members of the NCDOT Board of Commissioners.
